The fearful and the fearless

Prov. 28:1

Thieves, robbers and people who break the law tend to hide in the shadows and flee at the slightest sign of danger. On the other hand, when we are in the right, we tend to stand up to our rights and defend our innocence.

Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”  How true.

Let us look at our Christian lives. Many times, we ‘run away’ from the church, prayers and from reading the Bible. The cannot be any reason other than our own bad conduct. In our relationship with God, when we flee from God, the reason for it lies always with us and our bad conduct/behaviour.

As long as we stay within the confines of the laws of the LORD, we have courage. Prayers, attending services and reading the Bible remains a pleasure as long as we are in obedience to God. But the moment we sin, we tend to become ashamed, timid and fearful of everything. We often drift further away.
