When I fall, I shall rise
Mic. 7:8
The Israelites had sinned. “The official and the judge ask for a bribe, and the powerful dictate what they desire; thus they pervert justice” (Mic. 7:3). Even in such a situation, Micah said, “But as for me, I will look to the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy; when i fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me (Mic. 7:7-8).
Yes, we are living in a world of sin. We are surrounded by evil every moment. We are met with different problems and troubles every day. Those who go along with the flow of worldly sins will flow into destruction. But those who wait upon the LORD and go against the flow of worldly sins will be saved, for God will hear them. Being human beings, they might suffer and be filled with sorrows. And being humans, they might stumble and fall too. But, those who wait upon the LORD will rise again even when they fall. And when they are going through darkness, the LORD will remain a light for them to see. The Psalmist also wrote beautifully, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff – they comfort me” (Ps. 23:4).
Get up, believer! Why are you still down?
