The name of the Lord Jesus was praised
Acts 19:17
The book of Acts is a fascinating story of the early church. As we read through the ministries of the disciples and the early church, we are struck by their zeal and their love for each other in the Lord. They grew in number daily, they prayed, they preached, they travelled and suffered, they were praised by people, and they become firmer in their faith every day.
As Paul went into Ephesus, he was met with opposition. But because of his works there, “the name of the Lord Jesus was praised” (Acts 19:17).
Today, in our ministries for the Lord, whose name is praised, us or Jesus? Many times, the church or the individual is more popular than Jesus Christ. This is where many of us go wrong. Let the name of the Lord Jesus be praised everywhere. And if God wills (Yes, only is He wills it), let the minister or the church be known. John the Baptist knew that he must decrease while Jesus must increase (Jn. 3:30).
Let’s check. Whose name is praised in our churches.
