The LORD shuts Noah in

Noah was a man who feared the LORD. He obeyed the LORD in whichever we way he could and was in constant fellowship with Him (Gen. 6:9). Even when Noah was asked to build an ark, he never questioned the LORD and “did all that God commanded him” (Gen. 6:22; cf. 7:5). As God commanded, Noah and his family entered the ark with all the animals and birds and other creatures. Then, the rain came, and Noah was shut in. Even though it rained for many days, Noah was obedient, and his obedience led to the salvation of his family and many other creatures.

God remains the same today. He never leaves His people. The rain might lash at our doors, but if we trust in the LORD and obey Him, we can also be saved.

One day, we will emerge from our arks, and build an altar to the LORD (Gen. 8:20). One day, we will see the rainbow (Gen. 9:16). Let us find time to be in fellowship with the LORD (Gen. 5:22, 24; 6:9).
