Stabile trust and faith in the Lord
Gen. 13:8-18
As Abraham and Lot became immensely wealth in the Negev, they decided to part ways. Lot then look at the plains and chose to move towards it. Abraham stayed behind in the rocky hills.
In Genesis 12:2 and 7, we see the promises of the Lord to Abraham.
Right now, if we were Abraham, we would be strongly inclined to speak out to God: “Lord, you promised me to take me to a land that you will show me, you promised to bless me and make me into a great nation. What has happened to all those promises?”
But what did Abraham do? “He built up an altar to the Lord and invoked the name of the Lord” (Gen. 12:8; 13:18).
Today, as we are facing hardships, let us remember the stabile faith of Abraham. Because of his faith, God never forgot him. In fact, God was always on his side to protect him, and to finally make-good his promises. Whenever we think that God does not deliver on his promises of salvation, let us remember this: God is preparing better things for us and knows that it is not the time yet. Just trust in Him to make the decisions.
Though our future seem bleak at the moment, all we need to do is trust in him. Let us not be reckless in our minds. It is always better to wait upon the Lord and to trust our future in Him.
