MEN WANTED

Just the other day, I received a Facebook notification about my post on June 13, 2016. As it is still relevant today, I am sharing it again:

Roald Amundsen (1872-1928), a Norwegian was considered to be the first to reach the South Pole. Like him, Ernest Shackleton (1874-1922) was also a great explorer who had wanted to reach the South Pole before anyone else. But since Amundsen had reached it before him, a race to journey across the Antarctic before anyone else began. He needed someone to accompany him through the expedition. It has been said that he put up the following advertisement:

MEN WANTED

Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success.

It is also said that there were roughly 5000 responses to this advertisement.

No one is certain if this advertisement is genuine or not. But it surely evokes the mind to think.

There is also an acute shortage of people for the work of the Lord. Dear friend, you are also wanted, now. But the journey is hazardous with low wages, and there can be no return. But in the end, there is a promise of honor and recognition, not of this world, but of the land beyond.

We, however, will never be alone in that journey, adventure and expedition. We will always have the Almighty on our side.
