God, faithful in His promises

Gen. 9; Jn. 3:16; 2 Pet. 3:4-7, 10

As the waters of the flood during Noah’s time receded, the LORD God promised that never again will the waters flood to destroy all flesh (Gen. 8:21-22; 9:15). Like He said, it has never happened again, and we see the sign of his faithfulness in the rainbow.

Hebrews 6:18 tells us that God cannot lie and that He cannot break a promise. Hebrews 10:23 echoes the same. Countless references from the Bible; in fact, the whole Bible and all of creation tells us of God’s faithfulness, every day.

The faithful God also promises that Jesus will return someday and that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life (Jn. 3:16). Another promise is that everyone else shall be cast into the lake of fire (Mat. 13:42, 50; 25:41, 46; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 21:8).

Knowing that God never breaks a promise, and knowing that Jesus is coming soon, what will you do? Are you prepared?
