Proclaiming the gospel

After the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, He told the disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” (Mk. 16:15-16).This is a command, an imperative, a requirement. In John 20:21 Jesus also tells His disciples that He has sent them like the Father sent Him, and promised to be with them to the ends of the earth (Mat. 28:20).

Let us consider these points:

  1. Jesus had accomplished what He came to do. He has given us the command to proclaim the good news to us. This, let us remember, is a command, not a request.
  2. He sends us as the Father sent Him. Jesus fulfilled what He came to do, even to the end of His life. Let us also make it a point to accomplish this task given to us.
  3. We are not going to be alone. He has promised that He will be with us to the end.
  4. Jesus died for you and me. Yes, we know this. But let us also know that He died for others too. He loves them just as He loves us.

What have we done to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ to others?
