Obedience

“Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice.”

Prov. 16:8

As we live our lives, many of us try to amass wealth through any means possible. We do not care if we lie or bribe or take one. We do not care if others are suffering either.

But at the same time we see some (a few) who work honestly.

The Bible tells us that obedience is better than all the wealth of the world. Proverbs 16:8 tells us exactly that. In 15:16, we also see: “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it.” Indeed, we often stumble upon our treasures we amassed through unfair means.

Oh, wouldn’t it be great if we all practice righteousness and justice everywhere we go?

If the LORD is pleased with us, He can also bless us abundantly and we can gather great treasures through righteous means too. It is also possible to go with little even by doing injustice. For, the silver and gold is the LORD’s (Hag. 2:8).

Let us remember the fleetness of our lives and live in righteousness always.
