My soul magnifies the Lord

Lk. 1:46

Let’s continue Mary’s song of praise. She said, “My soul magnifies the Lord” (Lk. 1:46). Yes, she did. The Bible tells us she is a virgin. Her life was exemplary. She was chosen by the LORD to bear the Saviour of mankind. What she told the angel Gabriel was real deep. While being a virgin, she agreed to what the angel told her and said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word” (Lk. 1:38), knowing full well that she could be stoned to death (Lev. 20:10).

Her life, her experiences magnified the Lord in every way.

Are our lives magnifying the Lord as they should? Our Lord came to save us and suffered immensely. How do we show our gladness and appreciation? How do we show that we are followers of Christ? Do we magnify the Lord in our lives? How do we behave among unbelievers? Do we show the love of Christ in our lives?

Let us make it a point to also magnify the Lord in our lives.
