By whose authority?

Mk 11:27-33

Jesus was asked about His authority. But Jesus overturned this question upon those who asked – the leaders of the people, those who were well versed in the Laws and in the prophets, people who have seen the glory of God, people who were supposed to understand. But they refused to understand Jesus. In fact, they did not understand Him and were simply listening to Him to trap Him with His words. How foolish they were, trying to trap God! Then, they asked about Jesus’ authority…

What about us today? We have seen the wonders of God’s works; but do we really know Him? Do we really understand Him? “Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?’” (Mk. 12:24).
