The foundation of good communication

Revelation 3:20 says, “Listen, I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.” This means that God is always open towards us. He knocks! That being the case, the reason for the communication gap or the bad communication within the church and of us with God lies with us.

We have been so busy with ourselves and with earthly riches (Mat. 13:22). We have not been bothered with the word of God as we should have. Communication with God is probably at the lowest levels for many of us.

As such, the lack of good communication in the church and with other Christians lies in the fact that we have not been opening ourselves to God. We have not laid the proper foundation – communicating with God. Branches of trees and vines which have been cut off from the trunk are bound to wither (cf Jn. 15:1).

To improve our relationship with each other in the church, let us renew our relationship/communication with God.
