Doubting Thomas

Thomas said, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe” (Jn. 20:25). Later on, Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe” (Jn. 20:27). He continued, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe” (Jn. 20:29) 

How many Thomases will there be today among us? Many of us have come to doubt Jesus.

Hebrews 11:1 says “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” We can come to believe the unseen God. With faith, we can see the glory of God (Jn. 11:40). Without faith, we cannot please Him (Heb. 11:6).

Jesus knows about you. He said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.” Yes, we have known about Jesus through His words. Let us hold on to His words and believe, even when it is the only thing we have so that we may become blessed.
