He is not here

Mat. 28:6

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb where Jesus was buried. But the angel said to them, “He is not here, for he has risen” (Matt. 28:6).

  1. This makes clear Jesus’ resurrection. He rose again. He was no longer among the dead.
  2. His resurrection also means that the salvation of man from sin is now complete. Before His death and resurrection, salvation for man was not complete. But His resurrection from the death completes it.

Are we still looking for Jesus among the dead?

Jesus has overcome death. He lives. And because He lives, we also live.

Romans 6:4-5 says, “We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For is we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”
