Demas
2 Tim. 4:10
Demas was a fellow worker with Paul. He was with Paul during his first Roman imprisonment (Phil. 1:24; Kol. 4:14). But as Paul neared his death, Demas deserted Paul and left for Thessalonica (2 Tim. 4:10).
Although he began very well, being associated with Luke, Mark and others, Demas ended in the most horrible way. He went to Thessalonica, an important place where traders converge.
Like Demas, how many of us have been tempted to leave behind our services and ministries in the LORD for worldly riches? Though Demas’ conduct is condemnable, some may have even started off following him. Let us think.
